DIR Floortime is an evidence-based intervention based in attachment theory and the science of child development. It follows the child’s lead to scaffold their development through six fundamental capacities. DIR Floortime can help children with a variety of developmental delays, from difficulties interacting with others to delayed language skills.
An initial assessment analyzes the child’s achievement at each level, then caregivers are coached on specific techniques to help their child advance.
Theraplay is a structured play therapy program that can help children with difficulties in connecting to and engaging with their primary caregiver. Unlike the DIR Floortime model, it is adult-led. It focuses on building a warm, nurturing relationship between the child and his primary caregiver(s). Sessions at Fuller Development are based on Theraplay principles.
This is a sound-based intervention designed by Dr. Stephen Porges. It works on the autonomic nervous system to switch the body’s “default state” into one of relaxation and calm. This can benefit both children and adults with a history of trauma, anxiety, or difficulty engaging socially.
The iLS Focus System is a listening + movement program designed for home use. It can be purchased from Fuller Development and sessions can be overseen by our trained therapist. This program is ideal for children and adults who have difficulties coordinating movement, maintaining concentration and attention, or processing written and verbal information.
Therapeutic Listening is another listening program designed to help people with sensory processing dysfunction and communication difficulties. It can be done at home under the supervision of Fuller Development’s trained therapist.
