It’s possible to use relationship-based approaches with individuals from birth to 99!
However, most of our clients are aged 2-10.
The rate for a 45-minute session varies by location, but we make sure to keep our prices in line with market rates in the UAE. Please contact us for our rate table.
This is very difficult to answer - it truly depends on your child’s individual differences, the program that we choose to implement, and how easy it is for you to make changes to your daily routine.
Fuller Development is unique in that in works with children through the parent-child dyad. So, parents are expected to attend all sessions. There are many therapy centers in Abu Dhabi that work with children without their parents present, and one of them might be a better fit for your family.
DIR Floortime is a play-based therapy, but there is a lot going on behind the scenes! By videotaping play sessions and reviewing them with parents, we decode the cognitive, linguistic, and emotional work that is happening during this playtime. By understanding the skills their children are acquiring through play, parents are better equipped to scaffold the next stage of their development.
DIR Floortime is considered a Developmental Social Pragmatic Approach and has been labeled “probably efficacious” in a systematic review of studies conducted using randomized controlled trials. (Smith & Iadarola 2015).
Theraplay has received the highest evidence-based status from the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Although the desired outcomes for children are similar, developmental social pragmatic (DSP) therapies are quite different from ABA. They both have evidence supporting their effectiveness.
Contact us to find out more about the difference between ABA and DSP approaches and we can help figure out which is best for your family.
That’s great! Though many of our clients see us regularly for consulting on DIR or Theraplay, we also work with families who only want the five-day Safe and Sound Protocol. If you’ve learned about this listening program, designed by Dr. Stephen Porges, already and feel strongly that it will be a good fit for your needs, please contact us to book an initial phone consultation.
